Size a centrifugal gas/liquid separator from molecular weight, temperature, pressure, and flow. Same FDPP air-equivalent method as the sizing workbook. The sample air case is loaded — change any value and the result updates.

LIQUID REMOVAL
How much liquid each style is meant to take, as a share of the maximum air weight flow (14,116.2 lb/hr). Gallons use 8.34 lb/gal. Type T also covers TT and the clog-resistant DT.

SHELL DIAMETER AT 4″
Type T body diameters follow the current Type T drawing. On 4, 5, 6, and 8 inch — and a few other sizes — that body is one pipe size larger than the 1995 sizing table. L, EH, L5, and R are unchanged. Centripetal force still uses the L-series shell.

How this is calculated
Enter the gas, its temperature, the lowest pressure the separator will see, and the flow. The tool turns that gas into an equivalent flow of air, because the sizing method was built on air.
From that equivalent flow it estimates two inlet sizes. The standard size is what to use for a normal separator. The receiver size is larger, for a receiver-style body. Recommended size is simply the next catalog inlet at or above the standard size — not the receiver size.
The percent bar shows how hard the inlet you picked is working, compared with the most that size can take at this pressure. Pressure drop and inlet velocity follow from the same comparison. The liquid-removal table shows how much liquid each style is meant to handle.
Shell diameters are the body size for each style at the inlet you picked. Call 908.362.9981 to confirm a selection before you order.
